An opportunity for organisations and businesses of all sizes to support creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce in construction, manufacturing and renewable energy, while solving the skills shortage and creating security and opportunities for women and gender diverse humans.
"As the founder of Empowered Women in Trades, I am so excited about the transformative potential of our EWIT Alliance. This Alliance is an opportunity for all business in the trades industry, from sole traders to corporate giants, to support the vital targets that EWIT is working towards in shaping a more inclusive, equitable and thriving future for the construction, technology and data, manufacturing and new energy industries.
By aiming to increase women's representation in skilled trades from 3% to 30% by 2030, we are breaking barriers and building incredible opportunities. Every member that joins us strengthens our ability to make a lasting impact, by empowering women and enriching our industries with diverse perspectives and skills.
I am incredibly honoured that the work we have been doing through EWIT has led to several prestigious awards and accolades, which are testament to the positive impact the organisation is having in the industry in our first 4 years.
Just imagine what EWIT will achieve by 2030 with the support of a strong, united Alliance Membership - we’d love you to join us on this game-changing journey to 30 by 30!”
We also support disadvantaged and at-risk women to gain meaningful employment in skilled trades, assisting them to overcome obstacles and thrive.
This includes women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, First Nations women, single parents, those returning from a career break, and women who have experienced domestic violence.
EWIT provides a range of supportive pathways into trades, such as hands-on tool days, visiting high schools and talking with young women about their career options, providing pre-employment courses directly with the employers and we connect women who are interested in skilled trades with women who are already out there doing the job.
This sense of community is particularly important and EWIT has developed a network of pioneering tradie ladies who can show from experience how best to navigate the industry and help new tradies to find their career path.
We also work closely with employers to create safe workplaces, which enhance the well-being of employees and create an environment where women can feel accepted and respected in their careers.

PROGRAMS
EWIT runs a wide range of development programs and pathways to employment, further education and apprenticeships, which are made possible through the funding and support of EWIT’s Alliance Members. Being an Alliance Member provides the opportunity to promote EWIT programs through your business channels, creating pipelines into suitable activities for candidates and the chance to potentially provide experts who can participate in the programs. This further provides an opportunity for Alliance Member companies to promote your involvement internally and provide volunteer opportunities for staff, as well as providing great volunteering opportunities within the company.
PUBLIC & MEDIA RELATIONS
Through EWIT’s communication channels, including social media, email campaigns, media and government relations and partnership deals, the Alliance promotes and supports the vision of 30% female representation in skilled trades by 2030. All of EWIT’s communications and public relations efforts also promote the backing provided by its Alliance Members - forward thinking organisations supporting career opportunities for women.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
EWIT regularly responds to calls for submissions on public policy that directly affect the construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy industries. This is further enabled by the generous support and encouragement of our Alliance Members. EWIT makes these submissions on behalf of its members, as a representative of all organisations that support higher levels of female representation in skilled trades.
COMMUNICATIONS
EWIT gives its Corporate Members quarterly updates on all of its activities - providing information on what programs they have supported and images and other collateral, so that they may in turn promote their support throughout their stakeholder audiences.
OTHER BENEFITS
EWIT Corporate Members also receive a 10% discount on all EWIT merchandise.
To ensure that all organisations and types of businesses are able to support the development of a diverse workforce and contribute directly to programs that facilitate that, Alliance Membership fees are based on the size of the organisation.
